En Route: Press/Reviews

"Any visitors here...if you did not hear En Route on Nov 17 at Rock of Ages Cafe in Valley Springs you really missed a wonderful show! You guys sounded unbelievably awesome! I was blessed for having been there."
I thought you guys might appreciate this: "Troubadours have always been more important and influential than theologians and bishops." Brennan Manning, The Ragamuffin Gospel
"I just finished getting to hear your CD all the way through. What a rich experience! And after hearing so many musicians where song one sounds like variations on songs 2-10, what a great eclectic mix you guys present! There are 2-4 songs that we can add to our music list, and the CD goes into my personal collection! Thanks for sharing your talents! I don't know how to comment more without sounding like I'm patronizing, but it was such a rich menu of tight harmony and rich, strong vocals! Obviously you guys know you are good, or you wouldn't be doing what you do. But, I hear an amazing array of music in screening songs for airplay. I'm too often amazed that some of the artists found someone who would cut their CD without giving them more guidance in how to make it sound professional. You guys are a treat to the ears and soul! Both get richly fed!"

Thanks!
"En Route (is) . . . wonderfully eclectic . . . alternately rootsy, jazzy, soothing, but always engaging . . . you'll love their sparse instrumentation and inventive arrangements, not to mention the meaty lyrics in their songs."
While I don't have a particularly discriminating ear for music, I do enjoy listening to good Christian music. I like many different styles, and I'm not sure that I can be pinned down with liking one style over another. There are times that I enjoy praise style, which is a little more modern and upbeat. But I love the songs of old as well, feeling that most contemporary lyrics don't match the rich theology that exists in hymns such as "A Mighty Fortress."

But one thing is certain: I received a true blessing from listening to the Christian music group "En Route" when they appeared at our church last Saturday night. I found myself feeling as though I were at a coffeehouse enjoying some eclectic music. The group consists of 4 musicians: Bart and Debbie Vogel and Richard and Karey Harty. After the concert, I was able to talk to the lead singer, Bart, who has a true love for God. What a blessing to meet someone with God-given talents so completely different from mine, yet to experience the commonality of purpose and brotherhood that comes from a shared love of our Creator and King. En Route's heart for God touched me and inspired me to use my own talents even more for His glory.
"There was a quartet of singers with their stringed instruments that was so sweet and tender it would have made Johann Sebastian Bach proud."
"Dear Bart, Debra, Eddie, Karey & Richard,
I have your CD and been to a couple of your concerts and liked them very much. This is coming from an 80-year-old conservative musician. So keep on with what you are doing as it attracts young and old alike. Love to you all, Grace"
Grace M. Heinz - Composer/Friend
"The blessings from these gifted musicians will give you strength for the Route ahead. Don't miss a chance to hear this awesome group. Talk with one of them after the concert a receive a further blessing. They've strengthened my life."
Robert Mohr - Singer/Songwriter
"En Route brings a refreshing variety of musical styles to the gospel music scene. Their concerts, while very personal and heart-warming, have something for everyone -- from the contemporary to the prayerful." -- Concord, CA
"Enroute Friends-
I want to thank each and everyone of you for the amazing program you gave to us in Napa. Each one of you gave your all - - and it showed! Your music is so rich, so deep, and touched the very core of my heart. Thanks for being so willing to come out and share . . . God bless your group and each and everyone of your lives as you continue this beautiful music ministry."

It’s about having a life free from harmful secrets. It’s about experiencing joy and gratefulness and praise for the Divine. It's about asking some questions.
